S - The story of you
There is only one you. Your experiences, emotions, dreams, and wisdom combine to collectively create a unique story only you can tell, and it is an important one. Think of stories relayed to you over the years. Some you remember with sweetness, others with awe. They connect you to the world and your place in it. Your story connects others to you and links your past and present to the future and to the continuity of generations.
Your life through your own lens is an important undertaking. For you, writing about it may be cathartic. For your family, it may allow them to learn, be inspired, or give grace. If dementia becomes part of your journey, your story can be essential to delivering good care.
"There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you." - Maya Angelou
