C - Care Considerations
By 2050, it is projected that more than 20% of the US population will be 65 or older and according to multiple recent reports the majority of seniors plan to age in place in their homes.
Loving your home and wishing to stay in it is a sweet sentiment but reality often includes situations that impact the ability to carry out those wishes. Families should work together to find safe, affordable and respectful ways to care for their family members. Support might come from relocation, private caregivers, homecare or home health providers, short-term rehabilitation facilities, senior living campuses, memory care centers or many other services, some temporary, some long-term.
Transitioning away from what has traditionally been “home” is difficult but as we age, we should adjust to the idea that home can be reimagined. It might be a different place than we have been before but can become “home sweet home” all the same. Learn what resources are available in your area.
"Is not wisdom found among the aged? Does not long life bring understanding?"
